STAR OF CALEDONIA trust and its partners plan to begin building The Star of Caledonia in 2026.
When it is complete it will be:
a celebration of Scotland, its people and their contribution to our world
a visitor attraction encouraging travellers to explore southern Scotland
an active biodiverse landscape and community resource
a Cultural catalyst for economic regeneration

The Star and landform is inspired by the porosity and movement across the border, Scottish energy and innovation and the work of Dumfries and Galloway based mathematician and physicist James Clerk Maxwell & his theory of electromagnetism.
